
Keeping this disturbing scenario in mind, the Institute of
Simplified Hydroponics India
, in association with the International Institute of Simplified Hydroponics, USA,
www.carbon.org , has launched, what is called the "Pet Bharo" Project in India since Oct 2008. This technology is not something new or invented by ISH, but has been successfully implemented in South and Central America. It's reach spans nearly 22 countries, in the past 20 years.
The Idea of the Pet Bharo Project is to use Soil-less cultivation/
Hydroponics technology to address the concerns of food security. It is intended by it's Founder and Chief Visionary, Lt Cdr (retd) CV Prakash, an NRI based out of Melbourne, Australia, to help address the growing concerns of Poverty and Hunger and enable the poorest of the poor achieve Sustainability and Livelihood in the next ten years.
